France installed approximately 1.35 GW of new solar capacity in the second quarter of 2025, raising its total cumulative PV capacity to 24.85 GW, according to grid operator Enedis. Between April and June alone, around 1,358 MW of PV systems were connected to the national grid.
This marks an increase compared to the 999 MW added in the second quarter of 2024, though slightly below the 1,407 MW installed in the first quarter of this year.
In total, France deployed 2.76 GW of solar in the first half of 2025, up from 2.04 GW during the same period last year.
By the end of June 2025, the country's total installed solar capacity had reached 24.85 GW. Enedis also noted that around 53 MW of the second-quarter PV installations were paired with battery storage.
From January to July 2025, 84 MW of storage capacity was connected to the Enedis grid — a figure that mirrors the storage additions recorded during the same timeframe in 2024.
